I'm not exactly amazing at them but i find it helps to kick your front foot straight down when you pop the board to give it the kickflip. Kind of like a mobbed kickflip. I never really think about the FS Shuv bit i guess i just put my foot in the normal place and do a normal Shuv. Hope this helps.
